We regret to share that “Romnia” has been moved from its original venue as previously announced. Due to technical issues we have encountered, we will be offering another location on April 22. If you had already purchased tickets through Brown Paper Tickets, you are entitled to Ticket Buyer Refunds, and is not handled through Espacio de Arte. Brown Paper Tickets will automatically issue you the refund as per their terms and conditions, and you should see the funds returned to your card within 3 to 5 business days.
Our alternate venue for Romnia is the Mercer Island Event Center, at: 8236 SE 24th St., Mercer Island, with a start time of 6:30pm – note that it is an hour earlier than our original start time.
Tickets will be $20 at the door (cash preferred), starting at 6:00pm and we hope that you will choose to join us to experience an intimate, up close version of Belen Maya’s “Romnia” “women”, in Romany, is a look at the plight of Gypsy women, whose courage to survive has led them to a new ethical and aesthetic commitment. In Romnia, which is not a traditional flamenco show, but an artistic exercise with flamenco elements, Maya’s movements –her roots and her wings- are simultaneously going back to her origins and toward the future. Come join us for a gypsy experience that is ancient and yet a breakthrough modern dance event.
General Seating — Doors open at 6:15pm
