This months lineup (I considered calling it GRINDTOPIA 4: LEGENDARY DIRECTORS NIGHT!!!):

6:00-ish:

1941 (1979)

Steven Spielberg: a cinematic titan whose vision has changed Hollywood forever. Let's consider just a few masterpieces from his oeuvre: «Lincoln». «Raiders Of The Lost Ark». «Schindler's List». «Jaws». «Saving Private Ryan». «E.T.». Then there's «1941», an action-comedy about urban paranoia in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor which he would really rather you just forgot about. However, it does feature a genuinely great cast, including (just for starters) John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Toshiro Mifune, Ned Beatty, Christopher Lee and even Mickey Rourke in his first-ever screen role.

8:15-ish:

THE BROOD (1979)

David Cronenberg directs Art Hindle as Frank Carveth, whose estranged wife, Nola (Samantha Eggar), has been institutionalized, but is receiving cutting edge psychiatric care from Dr. Hal Raglan (Oliver Reed). Meanwhile, people are dying. There's more to it, but, you know...SPOILERS.

10:00-ish:

THE DRAGON TAMERS (1975)

Decades before movies like «The Killer», «Hard-Boiled» and «A Better Tomorrow» would make him a household name, John Woo was a young, hungry director in Hong Kong who gave us several excellent martial arts movies. This was only his second feature, and it boasts a young Jackie Chan as Assistant Stunt Choreographer.

What more could you want?

How about:

FOOD (including $2 ALL BURGERS!!! Whaaaaat.)!!!

A beverage menu inspired by tonights programming!!!

And, as always, admission to Grindtopia is FREE.
