Dig In! Science in Our Backyard
Get your hands dirty and explore the world around you!
From gardening and composting to birdwatching and beekeeping, science is all around us! Get your hands dirty and explore the natural world at Dig In! Science in Our Backyard, at Pacific Science Center’s three-day celebration of local ecology and the environment, April 21-23.
Make observations, collect data, and get to know the plants and animals in our living exhibits. Visit the Tropical Butterfly House, explore our Pollinator Garden, or discover what plants need to survive in space. Can you tell a good bug from a pest? Delve into the world of harvesting science and agriculture with outreach educators. Guests can also unearth new discoveries from the ground beneath our feet with live shows and special exhibits about archaeology and paleontology. Check out Fossil Time on the Live Science Stage to tour the fossil record and discover the earliest known living things. Experience the thrill of discovering buried artifacts by combining your visit with tickets to our world premiere exhibition of Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor.
