GlobeMed at the University of Washington is proud to present Ahadi: Celebrating Commitment to Global Health! Ahadi is UW GlobeMed’s 5th annual benefit dinner and gala which will take place on May 19th, 2017 at 415 Westlake. Join us for a lively evening featuring a silent auction, keynote speech, a fabulous catered dinner, live entertainment and our very own GlobeMed wine! We can't wait to see you there!
GlobeMed at UW is working to encourage youth engagement on a local and global scale in order to raise funds for grassroots health programs. Our solution is to utilize the energy, passions, and resources of students in the United States to partner with the real change makers – the people of the communities around the world.
Our chapter is partnered with NECOFA, a Kenyan grassroots organization committed to uplifting and empowering its community through projects in sustainable agriculture, education, and environmental justice. For more information about UW GlobeMed and the work we do, please visit us at uwglobemed.org. For more information on NECOFA, please visit necofakenya.or.ke.
Appetizers will be catered by our friends at the ASUW Student Food Co-op, a sustainable student-run organization that promotes sustainability and ethical sourcing in food production. This year’s dinner will be catered by Stella Fiore, whose expertise in artisan wood-fired pizza making garners envy even from the chefs of Sicily!
The silent auction this year is our biggest and best ever, with such items as an Amazon Echo, tickets to the Broadway show Cabaret at the Paramount, various tours and tastings at local wineries, and even a ukulele! Come bid on these fabulous items and more, like a little black dress from Fioravanti, a lapis necklace from Mrs. Robinson’s Affair, or a guide to Europe signed by Rick Steves himself!
Our keynote speaker this year is the amazing Julia Robinson of Health Alliance International, and we are beyond excited to welcome her to Ahadi! She will be giving a short presentation on health systems and how we all fit into the big picture of global health equity. We hope you will join us in celebrating our common commitment to global health!
