On March 23rd, the Trump Administration approved Canadian oil giant TransCanada’s permit to build the Keystone XL pipeline. The pipeline is opposed by over 100 First Nations and tribes and is slated to illegally pass through the territory of the Rosebud Sioux. KXL has been called «an act of war» by Rosebud Sioux president, Cyril Scott.
To build KXL, TransCanada will need to borrow billions of dollars. If they do not get the loans, they cannot build the pipeline. In other words: if we stop the dollars, we stop the pipeline.
Join us this Wednedsay to help make that happen.
JPMorgan Chase is the primary U.S. bank on TransCanada’s $5 billion revolving line of credit and the bank most likely to provide TransCanada with the loans it needs.
WHAT'S THE PLAN?
On May 8th Native American and climate justice activists will shut down Chase banks across Seattle, to let the big banks know loud and clear: Do Not Fund The Keystone XL Pipeline.
We ask you to stand up for justice and to join us this Wednesday to get involved.
Be bold. Be brave. Be on the right side of history.
