* This is a remake of our cancelled May workshop *
June 17th and 18th
Saturday & Sunday
Please note: This a two day workshop
University Christian Church
Freedom Project Office, Suite 301
4759 15th Ave NE
Seattle, WA. 98105
This two day workshop will explore the basic principles of Nonviolent
Communication (NVC), a language and consciousness of
compassion that is used worldwide to help people transform blame, anger, and criticism into understanding, effective communication, and peaceful resolution of conflict. By focusing on our observations, feelings, needs, and requests, we can increase the empathy and honesty we give both to ourselves and to others. The first day of the workshop will cover the 4 components of NVC with practice exercises and small group discussions. The second day will be the three parts of NVC: Self Empathy, Empathy, and Speaking Honestly. We will role play and explore connection through the three parts.
This Workshop is for:
-Folks curious about Nonviolent Communication and how they can use this tool in their daily life
-New Freedom Project volunteers and those interested in volunteering inside prison
-Helping professionals interested in honing communication skills
