You’ve been backpacking in the cascades for years. You already own the gear, but you don’t know the fundamentals of mountaineering. Believe it or not, this starts with knots. Take this 2 hour essential course and transform yourself from weekend backpacker to desktop knot practicer. You’ll learn what it takes to be a valuable part of a glacier traveling rope team. This is an exclusive course offering implemented to establish the baseline understanding of knots necessary for safely traveling through glaciated terrain on a rope team. Sign up as a beginner, or refresh what you already know.

2 non-lockers; wire gates are the lightest and safest
1 double length nylon sling
18′ of 5mm cord, cut into 12′ and 6′ sections

Please meet at our office in SODO on the day of the course at 7:00.
After you’ve completed this fundamental course, you’ll be ready to head into the mountains on your own or set up perfectly to take our Mountaineering: Beginner Course and learn more about what it takes to climb a Pacific Northwest volcano.
