Acting Through Dance
For intermediate/advanced dancers, ages 11-18
Monday, July 17, 4pm-7pm
Instructor: Brittany Jamieson
Acting Through Dance is designed for the intermediate to advanced dancer who wants to work on communicating character, intent, and story without saying a word. Technique is crucial, but for the musical theatre dancer, the ability to take on a variety of styles and portray people of different ages and backgrounds in the way they stand, pose, and execute dance steps is equally important. In this class we will explore several different ways to do just that!
About the Instructor:
Brittany has performed in theatres around Seattle and the country. Her favorite roles at The 5th Avenue include Flossie in On the Town, Ruth in Seven Brides for Seeven Brothers, and Mimi in Guys and Dolls and she loves to create memorable characters within the ensemble. She is the owner of Cascade Dance Academy and teaches dancers of all ages in all styles, with a special emphasis on performing and musical theatre dance.
