Planning for Change: A Seattle Giving Plan Workshop for People of Color

WHEN: Tuesday, July 18th, 6pm-8:30pm

WHERE: Social Justice Fund office — 1913 Fourth Ave Seattle (dial #0806 to be buzzed in)

COST: Free

Note: Although these workshops are free for attendance we will be asking for a donation at the end to offset the cost of staff time and other resources.

REGISTRATION: Register bit.ly/2tzhlUI

Social Justice Fund NW invites you to register bit.ly/2tzhlUI for our Giving Plan for People of Color Workshop. People of color have always funded our own families, causes, movements. Despite this legacy we rarely have the spaces to collectively think about this intentionally. Get the tools to continue supporting the people, causes, and movements you care about with a holistic and sustainable approach.

The workshop is free, but RSVPs are required so we can feed you!

Dinner will be provided for attendees. Childcare available only if requested byJuly 8.

This event is for People of Color only.* Feel free to invite friends who identify as people of color and are interested in connecting with SJF. (But please make sure they register too!)

Venue Accessibility: Social Justice Fund is on the 8th floor of the Securities Building in Downtown Seattle. The building is wheelchair accessible with elevator access. Location is transit friendly. There's metered parking on the street, a pay parking garage on 4th, and and pay lots at the corner of 3rd and Stewart.

*Why is this event for people of color (POC) only? Social Justice Fund is a multiracial organization, and almost all of our programs, meetings, and events are intentionally multiracial. However, we know that many spaces in our society (and in Seattle in particular) are overwhelmingly white, and sometimes a POC-only space can be an affirming and strengthening experience. White allies, thanks for understanding the need for this POC space. For white folks who have questions or would like to organize with other white people, please contact Rebecca Allen at rebecca@socialjusticefund.org.
