UPDATE: We just received confirmation for arrival times. The kids parade will be at the front of the regular parade so we will be walking at 6. Parking will be difficult and buses will be rerouted so please be prepared for that.
Please arrive between 5:30 and 5:45. Check in with Marva at the Salvation Army parking lot on 95th..She will be very silver and sparkly so she should be easy to spot. If you are having a problem finding Marva you can always go to the main staging check in area (95th and greenwood) and they can direct you to me.
Families and friends of Seattle ReCreative are invited to walk with us during the annual Greenwood Seafair Children's Parade.
Our theme is UNDERWATER. When creating your costume/bike decoration/float please keep the coloring predominately cool colors (green, blue, purple, metallic are also fun). We are asking you use recycled materials in your creation. Get creative making mermaid costumes, fish hats, masks, musical instruments and more! Doesn't need to be elaborate.
The parade route will start on Greenwood Ave at 95th (with staging up to 105th), and will proceed South on Greenwood to 85th then head West on 85th to 6th Ave (about 1 ½ miles total). Strollers, wagons, and bikes are welcome.
Suncreen, water and a small snack are all important. You might want to consider working an umbrella or hat into your costume. The hat will be an especially good idea if you have a young one marching with us.
We are excited to show off our creative reuse skills at this fun community event! Hope to see you there!
