Spite House
1513 14th between Pike and Pine behind the brown fence, Seattle, Washington 98122
After years of showing work the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Spite House, this will be Beth Fleenor's last personal performance as a curator.

«If you’re getting tired of music that’s even remotely formulaic, {Crystal Beth} is for you. Her experimental mixing of genres is powerful and refreshing.»
(Seattle Weekly)

Spinning sound using voice, clarinet, field recordings, toys, loops, and effects, Crystal Beth weaves a participatory aural ritual that encompasses urban chants, alien disco breaks, heart gushings, and robot love songs.

Believing that “art is the discipline of being,” Crystal Beth seeks to use sound to open the channels of communication between and within individuals and environments.

Spite House Concerts started in 2013 as a venue for new music. Beloved by Seattle's improvisation communities, the series continues every Tuesday evening. Concert artists are selected by a rotating group of curators, local musicians devoted to finding Seattle's most interesting and unique new music.

The third set is open to improvisers. Audience members are welcome to bring voices and other instruments. After the featured artist concert (10:30pm or later, depending) we form up spontaneous duos and small ensembles to create a set of impromptu music magic.

$20 Donation encouraged, not required. All donations are accepted with gratitude. We love supporting live, local musicians! Also welcome: donations of food & drink to complement what is always on hand in the kitchen.
