The CELEBRATION starts at the NE corner of SR169 and Kent-Kangley Road, where you can enjoy the lighting of the Spruce that will brighten the 4 Corners area and bring joy to the community through the beginning of January!
Maple Valley Hometown Holidays will be held on Thursday, December 7th, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The Official Tree Lighting Ceremony and Mayor's Welcome will kick off the holiday season and the evening's festivities! A moment of silence will be observed to honor Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and the United States Armed Forces.
Following the lighting of the community holiday tree, the magic will spread throughout the business community! Guests will discover fun, tasty, and creative things to do at the many participating merchant locations. Festivities include: community connection, live entertainment, the Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra, Tahoma High School Choir, Lake Wilderness Elementary Chorus, craft stations, and activity booths for the kiddos! There will also be various Photo Ops with the Snowman, the Grinch, and the «Big Guy» himself, SANTA CLAUS! Looking for a formidable challenge? Try the XTREME Snowboard Simulator!
Adding to the celebration there will be trackless train rides and horse drawn trolley jaunts departing from multiple locations, Johnson's Home and Garden, Grocery Outlet, Farrelli's, and the Fred Meyer garden area. Rides are scheduled for departure approximately every 10 minutes! Many shops and local businesses will have spicy apple cider, hot cocoa, steaming soup, kettle corn, candy, and cookies (of course)!
