Guitarist and bandleader Victor Horky invites saxophonist Albert Alva to bring to life the hoppin' tunes of the swing era. Including both classic favorites & Gypsy jazz compositions of Django Reinhardt, presented for the listening and dancing pleasure of the guests at the Triple Door Musicquarium.
Saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, arranger, and educator-Albert Alva plays tenor sax with Jonathan Stout's Campus Five, & Josh Collazo's Candy Jacket Jazz Band. Albert has also played in many orchestras, backing such artists as Mel Torme, Joe Williams, Dianne Schuur, Ken Pepl...owski, and Barbara Morrison. Recording credits include Louie Bellson, Clark Terry, Toni Tennis, Matt Catingub, and Rosemary Clooney's last two CDs with Concord Records. Albert's proudest moments include working with Benny Carter, as well acting as librarian, copyist, and arranger for jazz drummer, Louie Bellson.
Albert comes to the stage joined by Jonathan Ng's sweet styling violin & imaginative harmonies, lyrical improvisation of Patrick Brook's guitar work, & Victor Horky's dynamic, driving rhythms. Anchored by the thick bass lines of Ryan Donnelly, the relaxing melodies and intricate rhythms of Silk Road Swing will captivate your ears!

If you've never danced at the Triple Door, there is a large open area next to the stage with a smooth floor suitable for dancing, especially with proper shoes.
There's no cover at the Musicquarium, but please tip the band and enjoy the food and drink!
