SummerFest 2018 Featured Artist: Mollie Bryan
Mollie Bryan is a multi faceted artist, curator, and event producer. Her art ranges from 2D paintings to multimedia installations to light art but with the encompassing theme of nature, geometry, balance, light and sound. You can see her lifetime loves in each piece; the love of her native PNW n...ature, music, patterns and balance. She feels most productive when playfulness is part of the artistic process, and also likes to incorporate that feeling into her events to remind people how important play is no matter what age.
The vision for her work is to give a voice for electronic music and light art in a way that allows the art to be more accessible for everyone to enjoy and be inspired by. Mollie uses her gallery Mokedo for workshops, events, and as a safe haven for the dance community while her Lusio events take this same community driven theme out into Seattle into places like Volunteer Park, Seattle Center, and soon, Georgetown.
Mollie's ultimate vision for all of her work is to "spread happiness in bulk" through art and sound.
Welcome Your SummerFest 2018 DJs:
So much to be said about Brit Hansen. Brit undoubtedly connects with her audience through her music. Brit plays tracks that are unheard of anywhere else in the city. Without Brit, the Seattle music scene would be stale to say the least. Even more importantly, Brit connects with her audience on a personal level. Never will you meet an artist that is more kind and more willing to spend their time with you than Brit Hansen. Brit Hansen is and forever will be a Seattle treasure.
Blasting into the Seattle music scene is none other than Rachel Tollefson. Known for her eclectic sounds and high energy vibes, Tollefson is unforgettable. Whether it is her presence on stage or the vibes that she creates through her perfect track selection, Tollefson will leave you speechless. Recently booked to play the famous Paradiso Festival in June at The Gorge, Tollefson is a Seattle favorite that cannot, and will not, be missed.
All Seattle house/techno heads know this one. Born and raised in Seattle, Ed Beier has been spinning in Seattle for the last 20 years and is and always will be a crowd favorite. Recognized for his downtempo techno style, Treehead never disappoints. Whether its matching beats to literal perfection or jumping into any party and playing any genre of music, Ed is not to be missed if you consider yourself in the Seattle music scene.
Originally from Southern California but now a long-time Seattle resident and staple, Everett has come up through the scene faster than anyone else. His talents first recognized early at the Timbre Room a few years back, he is now one of the biggest names in the city. Known for his astounding track selection, Everett attracts music lovers from all walks of life and will always leave an impact on those who have the privilege of hearing him.
Before moving to Seattle, Parker Mills cut his teeth in the Florida dance music scene opening for acts such as Treasure Fingers, Sam Feldt, AC Slater, and Amtrac. Now a West Coast Native, he’s focused on bringing the soul with his eclectic house and disco residencies at local mainstays Reflect and Stayin Alive. With his own non profit party Give ‘n Groove launching this year, we expect the soulful selector to continue his crusade to bring the feeling back to dance music.
All people are welcome.
