>> Noah Pred

Coaxing nuanced expression from analog machines and digital possibilities alike, Noah Pred has been envisioning the future through electronic music for over twenty years…

And yet the story of this accomplished producer and DJ continues to unfold. Reinterpreting his signature production style anew, 2018 sees the release of two full-lengths that chart the territories between deep space experimentalism, intricate polyrhythms, delicate soundscapes, evocative acid, and hypnotic dub elements.

The breadth of Noah’s sonic worldview can most easily be accessed through his monthly two-hour podcast, IFS. Each episode reveals the depth of his technical approach, the sensibility of a seasoned selector, and the pedigree of a late-night veteran. A two-time Juno Award nominee in his native Canada, a music educator and technologist in his adopted hometown Berlin, an alum of Cynosure, Highgrade, and Trapez LTD, and founder of the acclaimed Thoughtless imprint, Noah is also a DJ whose past residencies at Stereobar in Montreal and Fukhouse in Toronto helped lay the framework for his dynamic yet fluid sets that continue to resonate with diverse communities.

A notable newcomer in Canada’s underground scene of the early 2000s, Pred’s distinctive production style earned him a place among his peers with releases on Immigrant, Intrinsic Design, and Consigned Recordings. Driven by the fuel that fired up Thoughtless, Noah relocated to Berlin in 2011, where his creative horizons continued to expand via collaborative projects with Tom Clark as False Image on Get Physical, with Pablo Bolivar on Apparel and Biotop, with Tim Xavier on Alphahouse, and with Deepchild as Concubine.

Between his recent solo EPs for Traumraum, Compute, and Biotop, his vivid sets of techno, house, and electro, the advanced sound design of his haunting atmospherics, and the ever-evolving scope of his technical capabilities, Noah’s commitment to electronic innovation remains as strong as ever — and in the face of global uncertainty, his utopian sonic narratives have never felt so vital.

>> 214

Chris Roman, aka 214, has a habit of getting lost in his studio, which happens to be tucked into the same mystical foothills as the David Lynch town of Twin Peaks, a location whose presence looms across much of Roman’s audio narrative, deftly playing foil to his creative heritage as a Miami native grounded in that area’s electro scene.

Since his production debut in 2002 Roman has cultivated a substantial discography of future dance floor thump and heady sci fi vapors with releases on notable labels such as Frustrated Funk, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Shipwrec, and Touchin Bass. He's also appeared on two Fabric compilations, including an exclusive track commissioned for Steffi’s highly lauded Fabric 94 mix.

Though clubs all over the world have hosted 214’s hardware-heavy live sets, he’s also known for working dance floors with dexterous precision for anyone lucky enough to catch him behind the decks.
214’s upcoming projects include releases with 20/20 Vision, Frustrated Funk, and Cultivated Electronics.

>> dj manos

dj manos is Seattle's Seth Branum, a lifelong obsessive collector of music and one of the Northwest's best kept secrets. Manos was on the path to becoming a dj long before he ever bought his first pair of turntables. From his childhood dreams of being a radio dj, to early mix tapes that he made for playing in his car and attempting to woo high school crushes, he was already developing an ear for how to arrange pieces of music as chapters in a greater story.

A child of the 1980's, the foundation of his musical tastes were formed by an early love for punk rock's energy, politics and DIY esthetic while the emerging sounds of electro pop, industrial, and new age music combined with the prevalence of synthesizers in many film and television scores hinted at his future. Experiencing early Minneapolis raves as a teenager in the mid 90's, the sounds of acid house and techno also began to weave themselves into his consciousness. A move to Washington in 1997 at the height of Seattle's rave scene pushed him even further down this path until, at the end of the 20th century, he decided to purchase some turntables and finally give dj'ing a try.

Manos believes that a dj's duty is to present a unique auditory experience and embraces his love for a diverse spectrum of old and new sounds. However, if one thing does tie the music heard in a Manos dj set together it’s a psychedelic sensibility that strikes a balance between the ecstatic and the melancholy. At once sensuous and sentient, bizarre and macabre, this penchant for dissent and the transgressive has aligned with an understanding that it is the dance between these contrasting emotions that make up the essence of our shared human experience.

It’s this distinctive musical ethos that led Manos to a position as chief A&R manager at Innerflight Music, a longtime staple of Seattle's electronic music community. His ear for unorthodox and compelling sounds oversaw the label's most prolific and diverse period (November 2012-July 2015) with releases that, while firmly rooted in house/techno, always included elements to push the fan base to the fringes of those genres. During his tenure, the label saw releases from Tomas Jirku, Even Marc (aka Bluetech), Luke Mandala, Phil Western, J.Alvarez, Adam Collins, Jaymz Nylon, as well as remix contributions from such notables as Noah Pred, [a]pendics.shuffle, Deepchild, Pezzner, Rennie Foster, Hanssen, and Bryan Zentz.

Near the end of 2015, he found himself breaking away from an active role at Innerflight as other projects began to consume more of his time and energy. Becoming much more selective about which bookings he accepts, his energies have been focused on recording more studio mixes in a kaleidoscope of styles, and original music production under several top-secret aliases.
